Ignaz van Hasselt

Ignaz van Hasselt is the Director of Europe at Mather Economics, responsible for all client partnerships and strategic engagements across the region. He advises C-level executives on pricing strategy, paywall optimization, audience growth, and data-driven transformation, with a focus on establishing Mather as the leading analytics and strategy partner for Europe’s media companies.

Ignaz brings a rare combination of commercial, editorial, and B2C subscription expertise—having worked across all three pillars of modern publishing. Before joining Mather, he spent nearly a decade inside the Mediahuis group, helping transform how teams used data across advertising, the newsroom, and digital subscriptions, and supporting subscription growth across multiple brands. Today, he applies this end-to-end perspective to help European publishers accelerate their digital maturity with clarity and measurable results.
Ignaz holds an MSc in Ecology and Evolution from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He lives with his family near Amsterdam and enjoys Ironman triathlon and Stoic practice.
